We are a proud subscriber of Motor Codes, which operates the Trading Standards approved codes of practice for new car sales, car service and repair. Ultimately, it means that our business is open to transparency and the scrutiny of online reviews.
This year we thought we would enter the ‘Garage of the Year’ competition run by Motor Codes. Over 7,000 car dealerships and service garages subscribed to Motor Codes asked their customers to vote for them as the best. The dealership with the most votes wins the ultimate title but there are also awards for runners-up.
We thought we’d try it this year and so we emailed our most recent service customers and promoted the competition on our social media channels. We also had some leaflets printed which were handed out to service customers while they waited for their car to be serviced.
The effort was worth it – we may not have won the ultimate ‘Garage of the Year’ but we did win ‘Best Franchised Dealer in Staffordshire’ – which is great in itself!!

However, we didn’t just want to enjoy the success on our own. We wanted to thank all the people who took the time to vote for us and write lovely testimonials by entering them all into a prize draw to win a FREE MOT for LIFE at our Toyota Centre! The free MOT would be for the individual, not the car they owned, so that if they were to change their car in the future then they would still be entitled to use their prize.
As soon as Motor Codes sent us the full list of voters, we promptly printed and cut out the names to put all voters into a hat ready to find a winner for the MOT for Life.
